Washington has been hanging tough with the 6-1 Cowboys, but the Cowboys have taken the lead on a play that underscores the value of receiver Dez Bryant.
With the ball on the Washington five, quarterback Tony Romo fired a quick pass to Bryant just beyond the line of scrimmage. Bryant stuck out his left hand to keep the ball from hitting the ground, put both hands on it, and then sliced past a couple of defenders and dove into the end zone, keeping his knees off the ground until the ball broke the plane.
It’s Romo’s 36th straight game with a touchdown pass, and the points give the Cowboys a four-point lead, 7-3.
