It appeared the football experiment with former English discus Olympian Lawrence Okoye had run its course, when the Jets cut him last week after trying him as both an offensive and defensive lineman.
But when someone is as big as athletic as Okoye, he figures to get plenty of chances to fail, and it seems others are willing to give him one.
According to Todd Archer of ESPN.com, the Cowboys worked out Okoye among a group of tryout players yesterday.
The 49ers spent parts of three seasons trying to mold the 6-foot-6, 304-pounder into a football player before giving up. Okoye also had stints with the Cardinals and Jets, who tried to see if he could become an offensive lineman as well.
