Safety P.J. Locke is out of practice for the Cowboys on Thursday.
Cowboys head coach Brian Schottenheimer said, via multiple reporters, that Locke hyperextended his knee during Wednesday’s opening practice of camp. Schottenheimer said that tests on Locke’s knee did not show any damage that created a long-term concern and that Locke will rest for a few days before he’ll have a chance to return to practice.
The Cowboys signed Locke as a free agent this offseason. He spent the last six seasons with the Broncos and has 174 tackles, four sacks, an interception, and five forced fumbles for his career.
Malik Hooker, Jalen Thompson, and Markquese Bell are the other safeties at the top of the depth chart in Dallas.
