In a move that Jerry Jones deserves all the credit in the world for, the Cowboys have secured an important piece for the next five years.
According to Todd Archer of ESPNDallas.com, the Cowboys signed long snapper L.P. Ladouceur to a new five-year contract, which included a $600,000 signing bonus.
“They wanted him, and he wanted to be there,” agent Gil Scott said. “It’s all good from that standpoint. You always wonder if you can get more in free agency. Maybe? Maybe not. When you’ve played in one place and want to remain a Cowboy for your career, that transcends everything else.”
Ladouceur would have been an unrestricted free agent. He’s been with the team since 2005.
