The Cowboys are signing UFL defensive back Ameer Speed, James Larsen of PFN reports.
He worked out for the team this week.
Speed played for the Houston Gamblers, joining the team midway through the season. He had five pass breakups and 14 tackles in five games.
In 2025, Speed appeared in two games for the Texans and totaled two tackles.
Speed, 26, entered the NFL as a sixth-round pick of the Patriots in 2023. He has had stints with the Colts, Bears and Browns.
In 17 career games, Speed has recorded 11 tackles.
