Cowboys win game, lose Dez Bryant

A wild, back-and-forth affair in Indianapolis saw the Cowboys win in overtime on a day on which Peyton Manning threw four interceptions, including two that were returned for touchdowns. But the Cowboys’ win came at a price, as Dez Bryant was lost for the season.

A Sean Lee interception in overtime set up Cowboys kicker David Buehler’s game-winning 38-yard field goal, and the Cowboys won, 38-35. Lee picked off Manning twice, including one that he returned for a touchdown. Alan Ball also picked off Manning, and so did Orlando Scandrick, who returned his pick 40 yards for a score.

But just before Buehler’s kick, multiple reports emerged that Bryant had suffered a broken ankle. He’s apparently done for the season.

That’s disappointing news for the Cowboys, who are playing great football since Wade Phillips was fired and replaced by Jason Garrett. Dallas is 4-8 this year, but 3-1 since Garrett took over.

As for the Colts, they’ve now dropped to 6-6 and look like an absolute mess. Manning now has a whopping 11 interceptions in the last three weeks. Indianapolis is only a game behind Jacksonville and still in the AFC South hunt, but the Colts sure don’t look like a playoff team.

The Cowboys, however, look like a threat to beat anyone. Too bad they waited until the season was half over.
