Commanders wide receiver Curtis Samuel and Giants cornerback Cor’Dale Flott have been ejected from Sunday’s game.
Giants safety Xavier McKinney hit Commanders quarterback Sam Howell late on a touchdown run in the second quarter and a brawl broke out after Commanders tackle Charles Leno took issue with the shot. Players from both teams squared off with Samuel and Flott playing a featured role.
The two players could be seen throwing punches and both of their helmets came off during the fracas. The officiating crew disqualified both players once things settled down.
Howell went to the sideline medical tent to be checked for a concussion, but he remains in the game.
Commanders kicker Joey Slye missed the extra point after the score, so it is 14-9 Giants with just over a minute to play in the half.
