Del Rio’s seat getting warmer

Earlier this week, Vito Stellino of the Florida Times-Union said he couldn’t rule out the possibility of Jaguars coach Jack Del Rio being in trouble if the team suffers its third straight blowout loss on Sunday, when they host the Colts.

The Jags have lost to the Chargers and the Eagles by 25 points each in back-to-back weeks.

Earlier today, Chris Mortensen of ESPN said that Del Rio could indeed be in danger of being fired, notwithstanding the Jags’ impressive ability to fill the non-tarped, non-premium seats at EverBank Field.

Del Rio likely won’t be counting on new quarterback Trent Edwards to help the cause today; per a league source, Edwards will be the No. 3 quarterback in his first game with the Jags.

In-house candidates to replace Del Rio include offensive coordinator Dirk Koetter and defensive coordinator Mel Tucker.

We’d support defensive line coach Joe Cullen for the job, if only to see what he may decided to wear -- or not wear -- on the sidelines.
