For all the attention paid to their old quarterback and whether he can throw or not, it’s the Broncos defense that has keyed their 3-0 start.
And DeMarcus Ware has been at the forefront of that, earning AFC defensive player of the month honors.
Ware had 3.5 sacks, registering at least one in each game, and led the league with 11 quarterback hits in three games.
That’s helped the Broncos to a league-leading defense (allowing 259.0 yards per game), which is more than enough to compensate for any perceived weakness of Peyton Manning’s arm.
