It couldn’t have started any better for the Patriots.
An Alfonzo Dennard interception and a LeGarrette Blount touchdown have given New England an early 7-0 lead in tonight’s divisional playoff game against the Colts.
Indianapolis quarterback Andrew Luck got things started with a bad pass, staring down receiver LaVon Brazill and throwing it to him even though Dennard was in tight coverage. Brazill initially looked like he might catch it, but Brazill reached in, wrestled it away and raced to the 2-yard line.
From there, Blount plunged in on New England’s first offensive play. A great start for the Patriots.
It didn’t get much better on the Colts’ second offensive possession, on which they went three-and-out. If we know anything about these Colts, it’s that they’re capable of coming from behind. They’ll have to tonight.
