There’s still work happening today around the NFL that doesn’t involve cuts.
And for the Ravens, there’s an unusual sight.
Via Jamison Hensley of ESPN.com, tight end Dennis Pitta returned to the practice field.
The veteran coming off two years worth of hip problems hasn’t practice in over a month (32 days to be precise) after breaking his finger in a practice fight with a teammate.
Guard John Urschel, tight end Maxx Williams, nose tackle Brandon Williams and safety Kendrick Lewis, also returned to the practice field.
While that’s good news, there’s still concern about outside linebacker Elvis Dumervil, who isn’t out there. He hasn’t practiced fully in a week, and isn’t doing anything today. He’s recovering from what they called a “preventative” foot surgery in June, but if he’s been backed off his practice schedule, there’s reason to be concerned about his availability for the opener against the Bills.
