The Eagles changed a lot about their offense this offseason, but offensive coordinator Sean Mannion will be holding onto something from previous regimes.
Mannion was asked about his stance on the tush push during a press conference on Saturday. The quarterback sneak has been a staple in Philadelphia for several years, but they were less successful running it in 2025 and the team parted ways with longtime offensive line coach Jeff Stoutland this year. Neither of those things will lead to the play disappearing from the playbook, however.
“It’s gonna be a part of what we do,” Mannion said. “It’s been an extremely effective play here. We’re going to lean into that. It’s something this organization has executed at a high level. So along with many other elements to our offense, certainly, it’s something that will be a part of it.”
Mannion was hired after the Eagles dropped to 19th in the league in points scored last season and he’ll be charged with reversing that dip in his first season. Fixing larger issues will be crucial to that effort, but the tush push will still be on hand when needed.
