Running back Elijah Mitchell won’t be making the cut for the Eagles at the end of the month.
The Eagles placed Mitchell on injured reserve on Monday. Mitchell, who appeared in one game for the Chiefs last season, signed with the team in early June.
Mitchell also spent time on the Patriots’ practice squad last year and remained with the team until being released in April. He ran 327 times for 1,523 yards and nine touchdowns in 27 games for the 49ers.
The Eagles also announced that they have signed defensive tackle David Blay, running back Ja’Quinden Jackson, and linebacker Tarron Jackson. Guard Jaeden Roberts and tight end Dae’Quan Wright were waived as part of the roster shuffling in Philadelphia.
