The Eagles fired Chip Kelly as their head coach before the end of the regular season and it appears they’re starting the offseason intent on erasing as much sign of his imprint on the team’s personnel as possible.

There have been reports that the team is open to trading running back DeMarco Murray and Monday has brought reports that the team is working to trade cornerback Byron Maxwell and linebacker Kiko Alonso to the Dolphins. The talk isn’t stopping there.

Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reports that the team has “made it known” that running back Ryan Mathews is also available to a team that hits “the right price.

Mathews was more effective than Murray last season, averaging five yards a carry on his way to 675 yards and seven touchdowns. He’s got a base salary of $3 million to Murray’s $7 million for the 2016 season and it would seem the Eagles have their eyes on lowering the amount they’re paying for running backs after doubling down on them a year ago.
