ECONOMY HAMPERS JETS’ COACHES CLUB AUCTION

Due to the ongoing downturn in the economy, the New York Jets managed to move less than a third of the available memberships in their well-hyped Coaches Club. According to SportsBusiness Journal, the online auction conducted via StubHub resulted in the sale of 620 memberships, at an average price of $26,000. A total of 1,380 memberships remain for sale at a later date. The Coaches Club is a fancy label for a PSL. In addition to securing the ability to purchase prime midfield tickets, the members of the Coaches Club have exclusive admittance to an in-stadium bar and lounge, and in-game access to the field. The prices paid for the PSLs ranged from $10,500 to $82,000, with one pair of memberships for seats on the 50 going for $200,000 each. (Hopefully, the Jets are getting cash from the guy who’ll fork over 400 large.)
