A judge is expected to make a ruling today on a pair of misdemeanor charges facing Hall of Famer Carl Eller, according to the Star-Tribune. Eller, who had felony charges of assault and terroristic threats dropped, awaits ruling for assault on a police officer in the fourth degree and refusal to submit to a field sobriety test. Per the Star-Tribune, the charges stem from an incident in April where police say Eller threatened to kill two police officers while withstanding two Taser shots and a punch in the face. The chase reportedly began when police suspected Eller of drunken driving after witnessing him speeding and ignoring a stop sign. Eller has filed a federal lawsuit, alleging police hid or destroyed video evidence from the fight. He could face jail time if convicted.
