Yet another off-field issue has emerged surrounding former Baylor defensive end Shawn Oakman, who was once considered a likely first-round draft pick but is now unlikely to be drafted at all.
Alex Dunalp of Rivals.com posted on Twitter a police report from 2013 in which a woman said Oakman assaulted her. The woman, who described Oakman as her ex-boyfriend, had injuries but did not want to press charges, and police did not arrest Oakman.
Oakman was arrested this month in an unrelated case after a Baylor student accused him of sexual assault. That arrest made it unlikely that Oakman will be drafted.
The totality of the off-field incidents surrounding Oakman -- the ongoing sexual assault case, a 2011 incident that got him kicked off the team at Penn State and the 2013 incident revealed today -- may be enough to keep Oakman out of the NFL entirely.
