The Falcons on Wednesday announced the signing of veteran running back Cyrus Gray.

A sixth-round pick of the Chiefs in 2012, Gray played in 35 games for the Chiefs from 2012-14 as a backup running back and special teams player.

The Chiefs released Gray in June 2015 and he was out of football last season. He signed a futures contract with the Broncos in January but was cut in late July.

Gray, 26, has one career rushing touchdown. He becomes the most experienced player in the running back room for the Falcons and will have a chance over the next several weeks to prove to the team’s decision makers he’s worth keeping.
