Harald Hasselbach, a member of the Broncos’ teams that won back-to-back Super Bowls in the late 1990s, has died. He was 56.
The Broncos announced Hasselbach’s passing, which came after a six-month battle with cancer.
He appeared in 131 out of 131 regular-season and postseason games from 1994 through 2000. In 1998, he started all three postseason games, including Super Bowl XXXIII.
Before joining the Broncos, Hasselbach played for Calgary of the CFL from 1990 through 1993. He won a Grey Cup with the Stampeders in 1992.
Hasselbach was born in the Netherlands and went to high school in Canada.
He is survived by his wife, four children, and four grandchildren.
We extend our condolences to Hasselbach’s family, teammates, coaches, and friends.
