Brandon Allen isn’t the only quarterback the Giants are cutting. They will also waive Jake Haener, Jordan Raanan of ESPN reports.
That leaves only Jameis Winston behind Jaxson Dart.
It seems likely the Giants will re-sign either Allen or Haener to the practice squad.
The team signed Haener after the first preseason game, and he went 9-of-10 for 116 yards and a touchdown. The touchdown went for 37 yards.
Allen was 26-of-28 for 224 yards with two interceptions.
Haener has played eight games, with one start, all in 2024 with the Saints. He has thrown for 226 yards with one touchdown and one interception in regular-season action.
