Soon, it’ll be easier to list the Seahawks players who don’t want to beat up 49ers coach Jim Harbaugh.
Cornerback Brandon Browner wants to put his hands on Harbaugh’s neck. Receiver Golden Tate has something more creative in mind.
Even though it’s something Tate already has done.
“I would try to give him the Sean Lee treatment,” Tate told 710 ESPN in Seattle. “I would do that.”
It’s good that Tate can laugh about the Sean Lee incident, since it left Tate a lot lighter in the wallet. Tate applied an illegal blindside block to Lee last September, and the league responded with a $21,000 fine.
It’s not good that so many players are talking openly about inflicting violence on an opposing coach. While they’re only joking (we think), that’s the kind of violent rhetoric the NFL hopes to iron out of an inherently violent game.
