As expected, Jets running back Shonn Greene took a step back from his “Something’s got to change,” remarks made to Yahoo’s Mike Silver when he addressed the rest of the assembled media Thursday.
Via Manish Mehta of the New York Daily News, Greene said his words were “taken out of conext,” and that he didn’t advocate a change.
“I said nothing about Tebow needs to be a starting quarterback,” Greene said.
Nothing against Greene, but this was as predictable as Woody Johnson failing to make things better by talking.
Something was said, and when it gets uncomfortable, the old reliable “out of context” card is the first one played. And because reporters are easy targets, a lot of people buy it.
