IK Enemkpali waived/injured to make room for Kroy Biermann

Carolina Panthers v Buffalo Bills

Brett Carlsen

The Bills announced the expected signing of veteran Kroy Biermann on Monday afternoon along with the roster move made to open up space on their 90-man roster.

That move involved linebacker IK Enemkpali, whose knee injury deepened the need for Biermann in Buffalo. Enemkpali, who tore his right ACL in the preseason opener against the Colts, has been waived/injured.

The other 31 teams in the NFL will have a chance to claim Enemkpali and we’ve seen a few cases of teams claiming players with serious injuries with plans to keep them on the roster until the next season. If no one decides to take that plunge with Enemkpali, he will revert to injured reserve with the Bills.

Biermann joins Brandon Spikes and David Hawthorne as recent veteran addition to the linebacking corps in Buffalo while Enemkpali joins rookie Reggie Ragland as players lost to torn ACLs. The Bills are also waiting/hoping for Shaq Lawson and Manny Lawson to return from injuries to bolster their depleted group.
