J.J. Watt may have plastic surgery on his nose this offseason

The Texans have been bloodied figuratively several times this season and defensive end J.J. Watt has been bloodied literally.

Watt suffered a deep cut on the bridge of his nose early in the season, requiring six stitches to close, and the wound has opened at various other points this season after a violent collision with the opposition. It’s made for some good pictures of Watt as a gridiron warrior, but his mother isn’t quite as fond of the look. That’s led Watt to consider plastic surgery to close up the laceration once and for all this offseason.

“Once it gets times to heal up and rest, it goes back to pretty normal,” Watt said, via the Associated Press. “We’ll see what happens. If it doesn’t heal itself, then I will look into getting it fixed.”

The injury hasn’t stopped Watt from producing on the field and the surgery shouldn’t have any impact on his football career. His future family gatherings probably won’t be so enjoyable if he decides to ignore his mother, however.
