Texans pass rusher Jadeveon Clowney, the first overall pick in last year’s NFL draft, suffered a minor injury when he was bitten by a dog owned by teammate D.J. Swearinger.
Sports Radio 610 in Houston reports that Clowney went to the emergency room after Swearinger’s pit bull bit him on the arm. The dog’s vaccinations are up to date and Clowney was not seriously hurt.
The dog has been placed under home quarantine, according to the police in Pearland, Texas.
“Animal control handled it as a standard call,” said Lieutenant Patrick Savage. “Standard procedures were followed by our humane department and the animal control officer who went out there.”
Clowney is currently recovering from microfracture knee surgery after an injury-plagued rookie year.
