Jahmyr Gibbs did not practice Wednesday, likely holding in

It appears the Lions have a hold-in on their hands.

Via multiple reporters on the scene, running back Jahmyr Gibbs did not participate in Wednesday’s practice to open training camp.

While head coach Dan Campbell did not address the situation during his pre-practice press conference, Gibbs is eligible for an extension and the two sides have reportedly been working toward a resolution on a deal.

The Lions posted a picture of Gibbs having reported, which is an indication of a hold-in as opposed to a hold-out.

The No. 12 overall pick of the 2023 draft, Gibbs has been selected to the Pro Bowl in each of his three seasons. In 2025, he rushed for 1,223 yards with 13 touchdowns while catching 77 passes for 616 yards with five TDs.

In his 49 career games, he’s tallied 5,029 yards from scrimmage with 49 total TDs.
