Jahvid Best not expected to return for Bears game

It looks like the bye week didn’t give Lions running back Jahvid Best enough time to recover from his concussion.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports that Best is not expected to play in Sunday’s big matchup against the Bears. That isn’t a huge surprise considering that the team signed Kevin Smith, as first reported by PFT’s Mike Florio.

Best said during the bye week he was feeling “fine” and that his status was “week-to-week.” He expects to play this season again, but there’s no telling when that will happen.

Sunday’s Bears-Lions matchup is a huge game in a weekend full of them. Chicago is on a roll and could tie the Lions in the NFC North with a win.
