Wide receiver James Jones wants the NFL to know that he has cleats and will travel for work.

During an interview with Bruce Murray and Kirk Morrison on Sirius XM NFL Radio Wednesday, Jones said that he is “extremely surprised” that he hasn’t signed with a team this offseason. Jones had 50 catches for 890 yards and eight touchdowns in Green Bay last season, but the Packers have opted to go with younger receivers after turning to Jones in the wake of Jordy Nelson’s torn ACL.

Jones said other teams have expressed some interest in his services and made sure to let any possible suitors know that he’s open to any and all offers.

“I got me a Super Bowl ring,” Jones said. “I’d love to get another one. But my ultimate goal is to play 12 years. And I just want to get out there and play football. It doesn’t matter who it’s for. I just want to play. If it is a chance where I can get to a team that they’re a contender or we have a chance to win the Super Bowl, that’s awesome, too. Everybody thinks they’re going win the Super Bowl right now. I’m just trying to get somewhere to play.”

Whether through an injury or dissatisfaction with the receivers on hand, Jones is likely to land on radars before the start of the regular season. It’s late in the offseason program, though, so Jones may be waiting to start work with a new club until training camp.
