Wide receiver James Jones landed with the Packers last year after Green Bay lost Jordy Nelson to a torn ACL and his return turned out to be an important move for the team.
Jones caught 50 passes for a team-high 890 yards and eight touchdowns for the Packers, giving them production they needed at wideout during a fitful season for the offense. Jones is going to be a free agent again next week and feels that his production has been overlooked heading into the start of the new league year.
“I’m hearing a lot of these receivers names being called and people are trying to brush over my name, and I had one of the best seasons out of all these guys that are free agents,” Jones said on Sirius XM NFL Radio.
Jones was cut by both the Raiders and Giants in between Packers stints, so it doesn’t come as a great surprise to hear him say he’d like to remain in Green Bay. He said coach Mike McCarthy told him the team wants him back, but there are several receivers already in place with the Packers and Jones says he will “just go with the flow” in what he hopes will be a good market for his services.
