Janoris Jenkins scoffs at Josh Norman not covering Antonio Brown

When Janoris Jenkins signed with the Giants, it was the biggest contract any cornerback got in this year’s free agency period -- until Josh Norman signed with Washington six weeks later.

But while Norman received an impressive contract, Jenkins is not impressed with Norman’s Week One effort. Jenkins believes Norman should have been covering Steelers receiver Antonio Brown on Monday night.

“I think when you’re paying somebody 70 mil, there shouldn’t be no game plan,” Jenkins said. “The game plan should be you’re on this guy, and that’s what it is.”

Jenkins said that his preference is always to challenge himself by going one-on-one against the other team’s No. 1 wide receiver. In hindsight, perhaps that’s what Washington should have done with Norman against Brown.

The Giants face Washington in Week Three, when Norman would be expected to cover Odell Beckham while Jenkins covers DeSean Jackson.
