Someone is celebrating April Fool’s Day a little late.
That Wednesday tweet from the account of former NFL quarterback Jason Campbell is a fake, a source close to Campbell tells PFT.
Josina Anderson of ESPN.com separately reports that “[t]his isn’t Jason Campbell’s twitter page, & he has told me he’s still...not coming back to the NFL at this time.”
The first tweet on the fake account was posted on May 9. So why would someone make a fake Twitter page for a mid-level player who has been out of football for more than a year? Maybe that’s the genius of it.
To summarize, Jason Campbell is still retired. And someone out there needs to find a much better hobby.
