Could Jayden Daniels be back as soon as Sunday?
It’s not off the table.
Via multiple reporters, head coach Dan Quinn said in his Monday press conference that Daniels will practice this week as he comes back from a dislocated left elbow.
It doesn’t necessarily sound like Daniels is on track to start, but the quarterback will travel to London with the team and get on the practice field before the Week 4 matchup against the Colts at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium.
The Commanders are set to travel on Tuesday.
Quinn noted that Daniels has already started getting in his ear about wanting to play.
“That would be him, for sure, yes. But to his credit, he’s been absolutely putting in the work,” Quinn said. “I am excited to get him back out on the practice field.”
In two games so far this season, Daniels has completed 29-of-51 passes for 260 yards with three touchdowns and no interceptions. He’s rushed for 100 yards on 12 attempts.
Marcus Mariota started Sunday’s win over the Seahawks and is currently in line to start Week 4 again.
Additionally, Quinn noted that linebacker Frankie Luvu and tight end Chig Okonkwo are slated to practice and travel to England this week.
And linebacker Leo Chenal underwent neck surgery on Monday morning, which Quinn said went well.
