Defensive tackle Junior Tafuna was dropped by the Texans on Wednesday, but he didn’t have to wait long to find a new team.
Connor Hughes of SNY reports that the Jets have claimed Tafuna off of waivers. They have waived defensive tackle Patrick Jenkins in a corresponding move.
Tafuna signed with the Texans after going undrafted last year and returned to their practice squad after failing to make the cut to 53 players last summer. He did not appear in any regular season games for the team.
Jenkins was signed by the Jets on Wednesday, so his stay on the 53-man roster turned out to be a very short one.
