The Jets have claimed wide receiver Jeremy Butler via waivers from the Buccaneers, PFT has learned.

Butler landed with the Buccaneers practice squad last month after being waived by the Ravens, then was promoted last week. He was waived Sunday as the Bucs made some moves to address their injury situations ahead of their Monday night win in Carolina.

The Jets have been looking for help at wide receiver with Eric Decker and Jalin Marshall injured and Devin Smith still on the physically unable to perform list.

Butler played in eight games last season for the Ravens, catching 31 passes for 363 yards. He broke into the league with the Ravens as an undrafted rookie in 2014 and spent his rookie season on injured reserve.

The Jets announced late Tuesday afternoon that wide receiver/kick returner Jeremy Ross has been released to make room for Butler.
