The Jets went the entire 2025 season without intercepting a pass and the streak ran to 20 games last weekend, but it is finally over.
Safety Minkah Fitzpatrick picked off Bears quarterback Tyson Bagent in the second quarter to bring the drought to an end. Fitzpatrick missed the last two games with a groin injury, so it was a very happy return to action.
The Jets appeared to have an interception earlier in the game, but defensive tackle T’Vondre Sweat’s pick of a Bagent shovel pass was wiped out by a penalty.
Fitzpatrick gave the Jets the ball on the Bears’ 34-yard-line and they picked up one first down before turning to kicker Jason Sanders for a 36-yard field goal. Sanders made the kick and the Jets now trail the Bears 7-3 with 8:15 to play in the first half.
