The Jets have signed all but one of their draft picks after getting a contract done with linebacker Demario Davis.
Manish Mehta of the Daily News reports that the Jets have agreed to terms with Davis on a four-year contract. The Jets selected the linebacker from Arkansas State in the third round of April’s draft.
Davis has earned a lot of praise from Rex Ryan since he joined the team. The Jets coach has compared Davis’ skill set to a young Bart Scott and he dropped Ray Lewis’ name while talking about Davis’ leadership ability. Davis is expected to spell Scott on passing downs while also playing on special teams this season, but it wouldn’t be all that surprising to see his role grow with a strong camp. Either way, the team clearly has designs on a bigger role in the years to come.
Seventh-round wide receiver Jordan White is the only member of the Jets draft class yet to sign a contract.
