Cornerback Terrion Arnold has been making the rounds of NFL teams in hopes of landing a job ahead of the 2026 season and he made a stop with the Giants on Wednesday.
Arnold is a free agent two years after the Lions drafted him in the first round because he was arrested on armed robbery and kidnapping charges earlier this year. In a press conference, head coach John Harbaugh explained why the team is exploring the possibility of signing the cornerback.
“We want to be aggressive in every way, whatever we can do, find anything out we can about any situation or player that can help us be better,” Harbaugh said, via SNY. “The margins are tight in the NFL. . . . .We’re looking for players that can help us all the time. He’s a player that can help us.”
Harbaugh then said he knows there will be more questions about Arnold’s legal status and said “the organization has looked at it in depth.”
“The organization has looked at it in depth,” Harbaugh said. “If there is a decision to be made on any player that you don’t want to go there with, then this organization won’t go there.”
Signing Arnold before the legal process plays out could lead to him being placed on paid leave before he can do anything to help the team on the field, which is another factor the Giants and any other team considering Arnold will have to keep in mind as they decide whether or not to move forward with a deal at this point.
