The Dolphins placed tight end Jordan Cameron on injured reserve three weeks ago as a result of a concussion that had kept him out since the third week of the regular season.

The concussion was Cameron’s fourth since 2012 and there was talk at the time he went on injured reserve that his career might be over as a result of his head injuries. Cameron acknowledged as much on Monday, saying that there hasn’t been a final decision about whether he’ll attempt to resume his career.

“That’s up in the air right now,” Cameron said, via the Palm Beach Post.

Cameron’s contract with the Dolphins is up at the end of this season and his health situation will likely make teams wary of making too big a commitment to him should he go ahead with his playing career. That may add to the likelihood that he opts to take his life in another direction, but, for now, nothing has been decided.
