JPP: There’s nothing I can’t do

The Giants could use defensive help anywhere they can find it and it is starting to look more likely that defensive end Jason Pierre-Paul will be in position to try to provide it this weekend.

Coach Tom Coughlin said earlier this week that Pierre-Paul could make his 2015 debut this weekend if he practices well during the week. Pierre-Paul was a full participant on Wednesday as he works to make his return from the right hand injuries he suffered in a July 4 fireworks accident and sounded like he felt ready to play after the session even if he stopped short of guaranteeing his presence on the field.

“I’m going to play on Sunday. ... Maybe,” Pierre-Paul said, via the New York Daily News. “It’s going to be a big adjustment. I’ve gotten over the bad part. But there’s nothing that I can’t do. ... I’ve been able to grab and shed tackles. My skill set, I haven’t lost it.”

Despite his confidence, how well Pierre-Paul will play remains a big question but the state of the Giants defense makes it one worth answering as soon as possible if the questions about his health have been answered to everyone’s satisfaction.
