Julius Thomas had a “pretty good idea” he’d be leaving Denver at start of season

Julius

On Wednesday, tight end Julius Thomas signed a contract with the Jaguars. The move to leave Denver was one that, in hindsight, Thomas knew was coming for a while.

“To be completely honest, I think that I had a pretty good idea when the season started,” Thomas told PFT Live on NBC Sports Radio. “Not being able to work out the negotiations during the summer really clued me in that you’re gonna have to play this year and you’re gonna have to do all you can. You hope you can be back, but you can’t count on it.

“Then when the season ended, and there still kind of had the same lingering difficulties in getting a contract done, I was prepared that it wouldn’t get done and I would have been surprised if it had.”

It didn’t get done in Denver. It did get done in Jacksonville. And now the question is whether he and the Jaguars will get it done on the field.
