If this is how a city treats its “blood,” we’d have to see how it treats its less important bodily fluids.
According to Jordan Steffen of the Denver Post, a jury in Arapahoe County, Colorado has found John Bowlen, son of Broncos owner Pat Bowlen, guilty of harassment.
A Class 3 misdemeanor, Bowlen was sentenced to 24 months of probation, along with drug and alcohol evaluations. He has been on indefinite leave from the team since the arrest. However, as the photo accompanying this item indicates, he has been around the team.
Last June, Bowlen’s girlfriend told authorities that Bowlen was under the influence of alcohol and nitrous oxide. She called 911 after a dispute, screamed, and hung up. When the dispatcher called back, Bowlen answered.
“She has had seven beers,” Bowlen said. “She is 95 pounds, and she is being picked up by another male who she works out with. She is fine, and she is trying to cause a problem. As the blood of the city, I’m telling you right now, nothing is wrong. She is leaving my house.”
The jury verdict means that a plea deal didn’t occur. It also means that Bowlen could be facing punishment from the league under the Personal Conduct Policy.
