Neither rain nor snow nor gloom of night has proven to be too much trouble for Ravens kicker Justin Tucker over the years and he had none nailing a 53-yard field through the raindrops in Baltimore near the end of the first quarter of Sunday’s game against the Eagles.
It is the 10th field goal of at least 50 yards that Tucker has hit this season, which ties a record for the most in a single season. Former Vikings kicker Blair Walsh did it in 2012 and, like Tucker, was 10-of-10 from 50 and beyond.
Walsh’s career took a different turn from that point, but little other than Shea McClellin leaping over the center has rattled Tucker during his career.
Tucker’s kick made it 10-3 Ravens with just over a minute to play in the first quarter. The Ravens scored on a five-yard Joe Flacco touchdown pass to Kamar Aiken a few plays after linebacker Zachary Orr intercepted Carson Wentz to set Baltimore up in Eagles territory.
