Receiver Kenbrell Thompkins is staying in the division where his NFL career began.
Two years after putting up decent numbers as an undrafted free agent with the Patriots and then getting dumped last week from the New England practice squad, Thompkins has signed with the Jets’ practice squad.
Waived last year by the Patriots, Thompkins landed with the Raiders. But Oakland cut Thompkins before the 2015 regular season. He later joined the Patriots’ practice squad.
The Jets released receiver Walter Powell from the practice squad to create a spot for Thompkins.
