Kyler Murray feels he’s “getting there” after his first two games back

Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray is two games into his comeback from last season’s torn ACL and he shared some thoughts about how his return to action has gone when he spoke to reporters on Wednesday.

Murray said he “planned on being undefeated” after two weeks, but last week’s loss to the Texans spoiled that hope. He said “the most frustrating” thing has been a throw he missed to tight end Trey McBride on a fourth down, but that he generally feels like things are moving in the right direction.

“Do I feel like I’m in a groove?” Murray said, via the team’s website. “Getting there. . . . I hope next season is different, a more normal offseason. That is something I look forward to. But right now I’m in the situation where I have to deal with it and somehow get better every week.”

Murray has a good amount of football in front of him before it will be time to think about how to tackle the offseason. His first two games provide him with a good base to build off as he tries to return to the best version of himself.
