Dolphins first-round tackle Laremy Tunsil met with the media on Saturday for the first time since his first press conference as a member of the team was delayed by an allergic reaction.
Tunsil revealed the cause of that allergic reaction was eating mahi-mahi. In a twist that adds a humorous note to Tunsil’s strange draft saga, that fish is also sometimes known as dolphinfish. If you can’t eat ‘em, join ‘em.
Tunsil also answered a question about whether the video of him smoking pot while wearing a gas mask or talking about taking money while at Ole Miss would give others the wrong impression of what kind of person he is.
“I’m not worried about that,” Tunsil said, via the Miami Herald. “Everybody got their own opinions. I’m the only one who knows what kind of true character I am. That’s for me to prove to everybody.”
It’s only been a little more than a week since Tunsil was drafted, so his experience that night is the story of his NFL career thus far. If Tunsil plays well for the Dolphins, though, his draft night saga will recede into the background along with thoughts of eating mahi-mahi again at any point in the future.
