Bengals cornerback Adam “Pacman” Jones and Texans fullback Lawrence Vickers had an altercation today in Cincinnati that, according to Vickers, was motivated by Jones spitting on him.
As several players on both teams fought for a loose ball in the middle of a pile, Jones and Vickers, removed from the pile, got in each other’s faces. At one point, with all of the officials trying to sort out the loose ball, Vickers shoved Jones.
At first it appeared that Vickers got away with a cheap shot, but it may have been Jones who got away with something: Ross Tucker, who’s working the game for Sports USA Radio, tweeted that the sideline reporter heard Vickers tell Texans coach Gary Kubiak that he pushed Jones away after Jones spat in his face.
If that’s true, and the NFL can verify it, Jones will be hearing from the league office. Certainly not for the first time.
