After a rough day from their defense on Sunday, the Lions are calling in reinforcements.

Armonty Bryant, who was waived by the Browns yesterday, has been awarded to the Lions today.

A 2013 seventh-round pick of the Browns, Bryant hasn’t played at all this year because he was suspended for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drug policy.

Last year Bryant showed promise, collecting 5.5 sacks while playing mostly in a reserve role in Cleveland. The Lions hope Bryant can have that kind of impact, while staying out of trouble.

To make room for Bryant on the 53-player roster, the Lions put defensive end Wallace Gilberry on injured reserve.
