Lions tight end Eric Ebron can’t believe he’s looking at the standings and seeing his team listed at 0-3.
“I mean, I’m surprised, yeah, because of the players and how great we are, how good we look every day,” Ebron told the Detroit Free Press. “So I’m really surprised. But it’s the NFL. A few mistakes can make you 3-0 or 0-3. I mean, we’re 0-3 because of the mistakes we’ve been having and the mental errors and things like that. So we’ve just got to continue to work hard and get better.”
Ebron may think there are a lot of great players on the Lions, but he’s wrong. There’s one great player, Calvin Johnson, but he’s on the down side of his career. Aside from Megatron, there are a few good players, a lot of average players and quite a few bad players. Those players are making a lot of mistakes, but Ebron seems to think the mistakes are easily fixed.
“Yeah, that’s why we’re 0-3,” he said. “We’re hurting ourselves. No one in this league can match us or play against us unless we hurt ourselves. And we’ve been doing that for three straight weeks. So we’ll get better at it.”
The reality is the Lions probably won’t get better. With a trip to Seattle next Monday night followed by a game against the unbeaten Cardinals, the Lions are likely to start the season 0-5. That’s not great.
