On Friday, we passed along a report from the NFL Network that Chargers wide receiver Vincent Jackson and Patriots guard Logan Mankins were likely to show up for work this year so they could accrue an official season.
Mankins’ agent Frank Bauer, speaking for the first time since the season started, didn’t exactly shoot down the notion.
“Who knows?” Bauer told Ian Rapoport of the Boston Herald. “Who knows? He may. He may not. You may see him tomorrow. [laughing] It is what it is. Whatever happens, happens. Whatever falls, I’m always ready.”
We doubt Vincent Jackson’s agent would be so open about the possibility of his client returning. Which is one reason to believe Mankins will indeed play this year.
