Browns running back Peyton Hillis’ disastrous contract year continues to get worse.

Hillis missed practice again on Friday after suffering a setback to his hamstring injury at Wednesday’s practice, according to the Cleveland Plain-Dealer. He also missed practice Thursday.

At this point, it would be a stunner if Hillis played against the 49ers. Montario Hardesty figures to carry the load again, only one week after carrying the ball 33 times against the Seahawks.

Ben Watson returned from a concussion to practice Friday, while receiver Mohamed Massaquoi didn’t practice because of a concussion. It looks like the sluggish Browns offense will be without two of their starters in San Francisco.

UPDATE: Hillis will make the trip to San Francisco and is officially listed as questionable.
